Default looking for McCartney-esque artist from the 70s?

Sorry....new member asking a stupid question but....

I'm trying to remember the name of a singer/songwriter from Southern California who recorded in the early seventies.

I don't remember hearing him on the radio at the time. It's very pop sounding with keyboards and very reminiscent of Paul McCartney from that era.

Ring any bells? Thanks!

LOL. Like all the other poor souls posting here if I could have narrowed it down I'd know who it was!

But I did find it--- Emitt Rhodes.

I finally got his name by Googling "Who sounds like Paul McCartney."

Seems easy now; but it was about the 30th search term I tried.
