Default Can anyone identify this song

"I used to say... you were afraid... to come out and play....but oh I didn't know....you were alone...you were alone"

(Refrain)
"Taxi driver...taking me for a ride...you're a taxi driver...taxi driver yeah"

These are some of the lyrics of this song I recorded onto an audiotape in 1978 off Rodney Bigenheimer's Rodney on the Roq radio show. It also might be part of MTV's Basement Tapes from the 80s.

I'd like to know the exact title and the artist. Common sense tells me the title is "Taxi Driver" but common sense doesn't always work

I can't yet post a link to the song on Mediafire.com as I'm new here and don't yet have 15 posts. However I can attach the song to an email if you want to listen to it. barfarkel@roadrunner.com

Cheers,

Default I've identified the track

It's "Taxi Driver" by Hero - released in 1977.

Thanks to all for trying.

Cheers,
