help finding artist - sounds like Data Romance

I heard a song as I was passing by a music store (HMV) in the UK a few weeks ago - I couldn't stop to ask who it was at the time. The artist sounded like Data Romance; electronic, but slow/melancholic/dark. Female vocals - haunting, ethereal. The lyrics were too indistinct for me to make out, but it was in English; it was mumbly rather than belted out. The accent was English rather than American. They must be signed/reasonably mainstream since they were playing in HMV, and it sounded like it was from the last decade rather than earlier. Not much to go on I'm afraid, but any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I'd like to hear more artists like Data Romance even if I can't find the particular song I'm after

Mynabirds, Nightwish or former Tarja Turunen, those come to my mind, but I wouldn't say Mynabirds are mainstream or Nightwish has a british accent. Hope I helped tho.

Many thanks for the suggestions p310 - neither was exactly what I was after, but I've not heard of Mynabirds before and they sound great, so I'll definitely check them out : )
