Mystery Orchestral Track - Muse Association?

Three years ago I found a discarded USB stick with this unknown track on it. (So 2012 or earlier)

It was incorrectly titled "Exogenesis Symphony Pt 1: Overture", and the correctly titled parts 2 and 3 were in fact on the stick.

However what's strange is the track does feel like a 9 minute super-long orchestral intro for Exogenesis, perhaps something to do with a live performance or extended version?

I can't post links as this is my only post on here, but if you look up chiffmonkey on soundcloud, it's my latest uploaded track - you can't really miss it.

Haven't had any luck using ID software.
