Default 90s song, popular in '95 or '96

This has been driving me crazy for the past couple of hours, and Google is turning up nothing. I remember hearing this song on rotation on this alternative rock station around 1995-96ish with lyrics to the effect of "now you know the damage I have done." I just remember being a kid hearing it in the car, and my mom explaining that they were saying "damage" when I thought they said "dammit."

I'm pretty sure this is it.

The Heads - Damage I've Done (Featuring Johnette Napolitano)

Here is the music video

It was released in 1996, and was a one hit wonder, so not many people know about it, unless they heard it at the time and remembered it. I had it on CD, so it helped me to remember.

Yes!!! That's the one...

Yeah, This was on the radio a lot when I was a kid. I didn't know who the talking heads were at the time, but it's kind of cool knowing it was most of them. Thank you for helping me find this!

Hahahahahahahahaahah

Not "The Talking Heads"

It was "The Heads"

I did that too and so did everyone else. Probably because they titled the album "No Talking, Just Head" and so it's a subconscious thought to think it's "The Talking Heads". I think that's mainly how they lost it in the music business. That and the album seemed like more of a various artists compilation. That song is really cool and I love it, but all other songs on the album were nothing like that song at all, so I'm sure that's another reason the band never made it.

...um.

They are the talking heads. "The Heads" was just minus Byrne.

I'll check that dictionary, but in the meantime I'm impressed - as is everyone else in the world - by your eloquence, obvious accomplishments and success, and the evidence of your blazingly high intelligence.

That's what I meant by most of them. I had heard of them doing an album without David Byrne but never realized I had heard anything from it lol

I know but I think this guy doesn't know the two groups are connected.

I don't pay any attention to band members, just band names, and I was familiar with "The Talking heads" singer, and he wasn't on this album.

According to Discogs
https://www.discogs.com/artist/67229-The-Heads

The singer on that hit song "Damage I've Done" wasn't even a singer in their band.

Yeah, the gimmick with the Heads album was every song had a guest singer replacing Byrne.
