I love Porcupine tree, and this is my second favorite album by them. ( only behind Voyage 34) There long jams in this are amazing.

Porcupine Tree ftw!!! I gave it an excellent even though I really only like 3-4 songs on it, but the ones I do like pretty much blew me away.

Fear of a Blank Planet is a brilliant album. I'd say it's in my top 3 PT albums. Metal bands wish they could write a riff as heavy as that in the title track. And the drum fills in Anesthetize are the reason Gavin Harrison is one of my favourite drummers.

As a bit of a side-note, Gavin Harrison is now in King Crimson.

I was actually quite disappointed with this album :( I remember hearing them play some of tracks live and felt encouraged about it, but on disc they don't seemed to have clicked. I'd still say the album is good-average though, as they're one of my favourite bands.

And wow, I didn't know that Harrison had joined KC!

Anethetize is worth owning the album alone. Another storming release from Porcupine Tree. I cannot add anymore except that if you like intelligent and engrossing rock music with occasional heavy riffs going on then buy the fucker!

Nice way to put it.

This is another flawless album brimming with all sorts of interesting concepts, short and sweet - it holds your attention until the very end if you're willing to pay attention to it, and doesn't drag. Possibly their most thought out work yet. I'm glad they decided to release the b-sides separately because though I love all the songs on Nil Recurring, this album's shorter format was a welcome change.

I don't get it. They're like Dream Theater on Valium to me.

ProggyMan 02-08-2008 07:08 PM

Uhh, they sound nothing like DT toned down(Which is what you meant by Valium I'm assuming), they're a psychedelic band that uses Metal riffs.
