Well, Hot Fuss had the most amount of good songs on it. Maybe they just need to put out more effort on their next album.

They're one of those bands who came out with a really good debut and so it was always going to be hard to top it... it's not really a matter of more effort.

Spaceman is the best thing they've done. The two you mentioned from Sam's Town are pretty great too.

Sam's Town wasn't even that bad, like I said people just took this music the wrong way (seriously). If you look at it from the perspective of a little known synth-pop band's album than you'd applaud it as being something different. But because they had become so big people decided that the future of pop-music lay with this bunch of clowns from Las Vegas, how could they possible live up to that?

I didn't see an applicable poll option for my opinion. It's not better than Sam's Town. Sam's Town was alright. Hot Fuss was good. This one isn't. It's pretty bad, actually. But I don't think it's a career-killer, either, as they seem to just keep on getting bigger and bigger. I saw them back in Feb when they came to the UK and was feeling a bit indifferent about them, but they were really good live. Even some of the new songs sounded better live, but still not as good as the old ones. I'm hoping it's a blip and they'll make an epic fourth album but I'm not holding my breath.

i thought there older albums are extremely good compared to this one, i dont like it much. none of the songs i want to listen to. except human & that got severely overplayed :(

Spaceman is total shit, it's just dance pop at best. The best thing they've done is the single they released last Christmas:

It's a matter of being fucking sell outs. You can tell that the band has more potential just from songs like Tranquilize (with Lou Reed), Under The Gun, The Ballad Of Michael Valentine, Glamorous Indie Rock And Roll, All These Things That I've Done, Smile Like You Mean It, and Andy, You're A Star.

Hot Fuss wasn't a god send but it left room to be more then a sell out pop band, unfortunately the band immediately released two albums of sparse good songs and filler, one decent single, and then just plain out become synthesized dance pop with this latest installment. They obviously could do better then this crap, so I believe it is effort... effort or money, who knows. Maybe even both, shit band though.

This album was a main contributor to the complete destuction of my love for The Killers. My silly self actually believed that this album had some crazy message, but alas it did not. Haha, and I actually begged for that album this time last year.
