I hate Kanye West with a passion.
But I cannot deny this being excellent.

Yeah, pretty much. "POWER" is likely my favorite song of 2010.

So does it sound a lot different from his other stuff?

Well I didn't hate his early records, just wasn't really bothered. Then I hated 808. And now this is kin of similiar to his early stuff, but really good.

Same opinion. I was blown away by this record, honestly. It's a modern classic.

Kanye, you've done it again. Probably the best rap album of the last five years.

Man I'm digging the hell out of "Lost In The World". Crazy tune.

I can't get enough of this thing. The only thing I didn't care for on the entire record was the Chris Rock outro on Blame Game. It was so long and really wasn't funny enough to constitute being almost the length of the song itself.

The only song i really dislike is "runaway". The chorus just really bothers me, seems so much lazier then the rest of his lyrics on the album.

I would almost agree, but that suite at the end of the song really sold it for me.

It's pretty much awesome, however there was use of autotune that I felt was unnecessary.

Favourite tracks: Monster and Dark Fantasy. Nikki Minaj had the most amazing verse in Monster I am now tuning in for her 22nd of November release of My Pink Friday.

I laughed the first couple of times but it doesn't have much longevity.

Word, that verse makes that song.

songs i liked from this album: Lost in the World (thank you justin vernon for letting kanye steal your song), Who Will Survive In America, Devil In a New Dress (minus rick ross), Monster (only the intro and outro the middle is not worth listening to), Blame Game (minus chris rock not a big fan)

the rest of the album is pretty meh

i wish there was a choice between average and good but oh well

It would make a good ep I think after listening. 4 songs worthy of the old Kanye. And any song with Rhianna in it I cant listen to. Well unless im watching the video with the sound off.

I guess I'm missing something, or I got a ****ty Youtube video because this song sounds terrible.

Listening to it on youtube, I had a eargasm when the 21st Century Schizoid Man first appeared - and it's used really well.

I think it's a really cool idea for a sample, but I kind of wish he hadn't used it cause whenever I listen to the song and that part comes on I want the guitar lick to continue.... but it doesn't. So then I just want to listen to 21st Century Schizoid Man instead of Kanye West. But maybe I'll get used to it.

If I could get the "Runaway" beat on loop with the "LOOK ATCHA!" sample going on and on for the whole nine minutes, I would. That sample is used to perfection in the song.

And the actual album version is still quite good. Likely my favorite along with the title track.

A bunch of its lyrics are misogynistic, self-promotional garbage that I hate to associate myself with, but the production is typically good enough for me to ignore the lyrical downgrades. Plus, on the non-posse tracks, West's lyrics are actually better than usual.

Agreed love the auto-tune and build up of this song - can't believe how many haters Kanye has when clearly with this album he's shown he still can make pretty amazing songs.

Regardles of his talent he is still a douchebag.

I liked a couple songs. That's saying a lot! I tend to gravitate towards songs with minimal vocals, so this will take some getting used to.

I've been spoiled by my abstract hip-hop I've been listening to lately, and pretty much shunned mainstream releases. I did give this a listen, though, and I was very impressed.

POWER was superb, and I really wound up enjoying "Monster" more than I thought I would - because I'd pretty much decided I hated Nicki Minaj. Regardless, solid (even tight) track.

Impressive stuff.

I heard the song that sampled King Crimson (forgot the name of it), and I thought it was a mess. Is the rest of the album along the same line or is it more varied?

I really don't get why so many people are saying "I love his music, but hate Kanye West."
It doesn't really make sense, because most of these songs are just self-righteous bull**** done really well. If he wasn't such a huge douche his music would be completely different.
