Maybe I need to listen to this album when I'm not high, but so far I'm thinking it's a bit forced and "albumized". I always love hearing A spit, and he's a good match with Sonic, and it works on the surface, but I'm not taken by it.
Could be simply because of my history with A, or whatever else, but that's the most honest response I can give at this point.

I'm getting 'a vibe' from this too. For example, Breakdance Beach... I think it's "Boring... Boring" and they know it. They made a boring, party track with minimal lyrics. That track could be 60 seconds for all I care. The rest is filler. "Go...Go...Go...Go..."

And right after Breakdance Beach, they slap Table Talk, which I think is a 10/10 track. And THEN what? "Mailbox Baseball? Mailbox Baseball..." Meh. And then Holy Driver is pretty dope.

I'm not sure what to chalk this up to. Is it them trying to appeal to a broader market :nono: It's a decent release, above "average" but for Aesop Rock, it's not jaw-dropping across the board...

I really don't think so. It's too hard to listen to sometimes, and both artists know how to put out catchier, more consumable music.

I'm just happy to have rob sonic on some solid beats even if it doesn't meld together all the time
