Perhaps the wierdest thing is the title "Mylo Xyloto". According to Chris Martin: "It doesn't have any meaning". I still can't get over that.

I found it avarage, IMO a step backwords from liv

what makes coldplay great is the are a band that gives you straight entertainment, their agendas are light and unimportant to the music. its a nice escape...

That was a great takedown. What do you mean by "straight" entertainment anyway? Do you hate Jobriath or something? And by the way, Chris Martin kisses Guy Berryman in the music video to "Moses" at 1:10 in this video:
I hate Coldplay but still know every detail about their miserable career. I must really be a sad old bastard. |
my girlfriend loves them, and the scientist is a pretty good song, especially now that Willy Nelson's covered it (thx chipotle).
but i would never choose to listen to their albums. It's radiohead's Bends-Computer era only lighter/less experimental from what i can tell. |
Voted good. It's not as immediate as their other albums but I'm growing more fond of it with each listen. I'm even liking the Rihanna colab on Princess of China. Other than that, at the mo I'm really enjoying Every teardrop is a waterfall, Major Minus and Us against the world.
Would love to see them live again... |
Absolute Crap if you ask me.
I figured Viva la Vida would be their worst album, with only one proper song. But they apparently were able to be even worse :(. I love Parachutes so much. What went wrong? |
I blame BRIAN ENO, who was the producer for both Viva la Vida and Mylo Xyloto, and if you notice the difference before and after you will see how much he's changed them.
Mind you, I hate Parachutes as much, it's slow and boring, the falsetto is unnecessary and the songs are mostly contemptible love ballads (but on the other hand I am just an angry old man). My review of Mylo Xyloto can be found here or here if you like pictures with captions. |
