I've been listening to Extraordinary Machine for the past few days. I'm falling in love with it each time I listen to it. Can't wait to listen to The Idler Wheel...

After a first listen, I think it's already fair for me to say that this is a 4/5, because it was definitely better than what I expected, but it isn't the greatest album of the year for me yet, and I don't think it will be (let's face it, The Money Store will be my number 1 album of the year unless Radiohead suddenly releases something great or if the new Soundgarden album actually turns out to be f*cking awesome)

Nice. I could imagine this being one of my favorites of the year. It will go nicely with my Sara Jackson-Holman and Carolina Chocolate Drops, maybe even Tracy Chapman. I tend to prefer (and expect in vain) really experimental new stuff from today's singer-songwriters, to shake things up a bit more and move things forward. This, to me, is almost there; but it certainly has enough interest to keep me listening. 4/5 for me.

It's a great album, no doubt. But Extraordinary Machine in my opinion is now one of my favorite albums. Took me awhile to finally listen to it though.

I've been listening to this a lot of the past couple of days. 4/5, easy. It's pretty bare bones in some places, but I like it.
