felt very much like a Crosses record, in that it was a lot less nu-metal driven and clunky than the production in previous records.
On first listen, I liked it. They've really grown as artists and Chino sounds incredible on vocals as always.
Worthy of the hype I'd say.

I voted 3/5.
I dunno, maybe I should give it more time, but I feel like it's a collection of songs from the album that was supposed to come out that they cancelled. Nothing really stood out to me and grabbed me in the way that new Deftones albums usually do. There were some good songs, but as an album, I wouldn't rate this very high at all. And this is coming from a Deftones fan from the outset.

I don't really feel anything with this album. I'll give it more time, but I know how I react to them and I know how I digest them. I can already say that this is probably going to be my least favorite album of them that they've ever put out.

To me It's not very dynamic but there are a couple of songs I'll go back to when I want some Deftones stuff...it's enough for me to give it a 3/5.

I completely agree. I know I shouldn't compare everything to White Pony (because I hate it when other people compare everything to a band's mangum opus), but seriously...I know you have it in you, Deftones. Just give us another good one. PLEASE. Diamond Eyes was such a good step forward...now I feel they've taken a few steps back. Ugh. Oh, well.

I don't know guys, "Romantic Dreams" and "Poltergeist" are pretty epic to me. I like the rest and feel it's as strong if not stronger than Diamond Eyes. It seems more like a step forward at least in those two tracks. Some of the tracks seem pretty standard for Deftones but it's all good material. I think it's a solid 4/5.

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.

It didn't make it to the NME's top 50 of 2012. I don't believe there are fifty better albums this year but anyway..

Actually, on seconds thoughts this comment is quite amusing.
Humour me even more so, what did NME's 'list' look like?
How high were The Cribs lol?

1. Tame Impala 2. Grimes 3. Frank Ocean...The Cribs at number 8 (and I've never ever heard them...I'll start now).
