Will Wiesenfeld is back with a new Baths album. Obsidian is the follow up to 2010's Cerulean, and it's out May 28 via Anticon. In an interview with Pitchfork's Ian Cohen earlier this year, Wiesenfeld described Obsidian as darker, yet more pop and more hi-fi than his previous efforts. He also noted that he wrote the songs on the new album with the idea that they'd translate well to a full band live setting.

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.

I almost forgot about Baths. Even though I often hate when electronic musicians go 'full band' I remember how much I like Cerulean so I'll give this a listen soon.

He went full band? Can't even tell honestly. Maybe now that I know I might say "oh I see" on my next listen.

Oh, maybe not. I can't remember now what I read that made me think that he did. Maybe it's just that he sampled a lot more acoustic/non-electronic sounds on this one? I still haven't heard it so I'll shut up until I have. I'm looking forward to it.

Digging this a lot. Anticon really does no wrong in my eyes and has put out nothing but greatness so far this year but this album has struck me in particular. 4/5 ruffled feathers from me.
