I don't really see myself listening to this anymore to be honest. Great album obviously, there's just better music I could be listening too.

I really enjoyed this album overall, it's experimental for Kanye, fun, and is an interesting enjoyable album as well. While there are some clunker tracks, and some lyrics that I think should have been cut, the highlights really overshadow the lesser tracks, including tracks like, New Slaves, especially.

4/5

I enjoyed this album a lot and I think it was one of the better hip hop releases to date this year.

That being said, Yeezus felt kind of disappointing for a Kanye West album. The beats didn't really convey the emotion that are usually in West's tracks and his whole angry lyrical and vocal approach were kind of lackluster. There are angrier artists than Kanye West whom an album like this would sound much more passionate from.

Kanye has, imo, been going on a slippery slope ever since My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. Watch The Throne and Cruel Summer were enjoyable but they didn't match up to any of his prior works on a personal level. Kanye's work has always seemed a bit more inwards, as if he's talking to himself and contemplating personal matters, not preaching to the world, and in general, he's been better for it.

I really like the song switch on "On Sight." Also, everyone said Kanye was screaming and getting all crazy on "Black Skinhead," well I didn't hear it.

That's all.

I love this album. I gave it a 5/5, it's not perfect and deserves a 3 or 4, but I've received a lot of enjoyment from it so I gave it an extra point.

I would of give it 1 and a half. So 1 it is... I honestly think it's a terrible album. He should really stick to sounds from his previous album, I didn't like the production; lyrics everything, even the album art cover is poor.

No one Kanye album sounds the same. All his records have stylistic differences. I don't get what you mean by this.

His past albums have been more up lifting and enjoyable, with a bit of soul samples here and there. With this one everything just sounds dark and not enjoyable, the production didn't really help. My thoughts might of been different if the production was different with the same lyrics, but I really think this is his worst one out of all his albums. I know people experiment with new sounds but he should of released it as a mixtape if he was gonna do that. That's just IMO though.

But isn't it normal for an artist to change their albums/sound to not only reach a broader audience and being ahead of the music being produced now?

What's wrong with the album being dark? It shows a completely different side of him, he chose to make it intense because people can relate to it.
