Thumbs up FKA twigs - LP1

FKA twigs - LP1

1. Preface
2. Lights On
3. Two Weeks
4. Hours
5. Pendulum
6. Video Girl
7. Numbers
8. Closer
9. Give Up
10. Kicks

Personally, I love this record.. I am particularly in love with her unique and beautiful voice! This album almost sounds like what would happen if Grimes starting making R&B music.
Quirky sounds, hauntingly high-pitched yet gorgeous voice, very odd visuals with the songs too.. but it's a breath of fresh air.

she is also signed to Young Turks which I love (Sampha, Jamie xx, etc.)

My fav tracks: Pendulum, Two Weeks, Lights On, Video Girl
My least fav tracks: Kicks, Hours

3.5/5 for me. Really nice production and vocals, but kind of blends into one after a while.

It's a nice album with beautiful vocals and clean production. Nothing particularly stands out though. With that I'll give it a 3/5.

I watched her performance on KEXP recently and think she's doing some really interesting stuff. "Water Me" is the standout track for me to date, nothing else has really grabbed me - especially not from this album. I'm not particularly impressed by LP1 but look forward to seeing which direction future releases take.

I just watched that too. Her voice even when she's not singing is damn sexy.

I really love twigs, she always manages to stand out and brings something new. Her new EP3 M3LL155X is also amazing. Can't wait for LP2 :-)
