Default Blondie

The core of Blondie may seem like mere pop music, but they were actually a fusion of many different styles of music. Even as a solo artist, Debbie Harry had her moments. The power pop barbie doll girl bands of the new millenium took a lesson or two from Blondie, although they probably won't openly admit it. And somehow, I get outraged when I hear horrible covers of "Call Me" and "The Tide Is High", butchered, and sold as a pop bands only single.
And yet this forum has managed to go on, without a Blondie thread.

I`d give Blondie as an example of the best ever as far as the nearest female fronted pop ever got to perfection.

I guess some people might say the same thing about ABBA , but then ABBA never had Debbie Harry`s coolness.

Just blasting through their Platinum Collection album as we speak. It's easy to dismiss them as chart fodder but damn they made some top tunes and it's a cliche but Debbie Harry is such an icon...and still in good shape for her advancing years.

Ah, Debbie Harry. Maybe the first female I ever fancied as a child, tied with her and Diana from The series V.

I love Blondie, I love their tunes, their attitude and the whole package. Managed to see them live in 98 just before they released Maria and they were still good, they have such an underrated drummer.

We found out where they were going next so we ran to the club in time to see the limo pull up, but then it drove off, probably after having seen us. The next half hour was spent chasing a limo around Sheffield center on foot.

Parallel Lines and Eat To The Beat are two fine pop albums.
Also, one of the best singles bands ever?
