Can someone with a more firm grip on the history of this band tell me what they have said about the song "West End Girls?" I just looked it up for meaning and the crack pot theories out there run the gamut

I like synth-pop too, and for me, The Pet Shop Boys were one of the most prominent bands in that era.

As earlier mentioned, their song It's A Sin is awesome, as is Love Etc.

I feel they lost their way somewhat as they camped up their image.

They really had their own sound, it really stood out.

Wow two years since this thread was created I thought it best to resurrect this thread though rather than create a second one and clutter the place the up. Especially since Pet Shop Boys are in for a busy few months with starting their new tour and releasing their new album (both called Electric)

Anyhow - I'm a huge Pet Shop Boys fan for about three years or so now. I think they're so overlooked and Neil Tennant is one of the best songwriters in pop music. I actually think their best work was in the 90s: Behaviour and Very are my two favourite Pet Shop Boys eras. And I'd highly recommend their two B-sides compilations Format and Alternative to anyone who hasn't heard them. Their B-sides are better than their studio tracks more often than not.

Any other Pet Shop Boys fans around?
