Emitt Rhodes

get his self-titled record from 1970. one-man band. sounds more like the beatles than any group ive ever had. phenomenal over-looked genius who never got his due. when he released that record in 1970 after the beatles broke up radio stations were having people call in and discuss whether this was a new beatles record under a different name. crazy talented.

I just started reading this thread, but couldn't it be said that most people "wanna be" something? unless you invented something new then you are a wannabe for having been influences and sounding similar to something else....*dunno*

it could be said.... but then what would people use to rank on otherwise solid bands.

and on the subject of the monkees. they were at their best doing nilsson songs.

Richey Edwards was a lost cause. I read about his self-destructive tendencies, and he was really messed up. Edwards has been missing for over a decade. Music fans should move on... Focus on positive musicians.
