Using music to label and promote a cause (as oppose to express it without wheedling or rallying your audience) is a very sell-outy/dishonest thing to do. If someone wants to use music to express thier feelings on an issue, sure that's fine, but 'rallying the troops' into a political organization using your music as a label for that idea instead of leaving your music alone as simply a piece of expression or art isn't as ok, it's compromising.

Oomph does not do that, nothing about thier music is some political beacon to appeal to anything outside of music and music alone.
Dear oh dear i'll reply to that when i've stopped laughing.

anyone who writes of top40 pop as garbage should try writing a top40 pop tune. it takes ridiculous skill to suck that much without making your head implode.

You really don't get it do you.

These record companies have marketing strategies that all end up with the same thing , sales.
If they want to market a Rob Zombie or a Godsmack album to someone like you of course they won't do it the same way as a pop act , they push it in other ways so that make you , the gullible anti mainstream metal kid thinks 'wow these guys rock , they're not like all that pop sh*t that they push on me , i'll buy that instead'
Seriously kid , there are a whole bunch of kids like you around who think that exact same way , and thats how those record companies make profits from that, in the exact same way they would from some little kid watching a Britney video on MTV.
Teenage rebellion has always been one of the biggest money spinners around.

No you apperently don't get it.

YOU...DON'T...KNOW...ME

I have NEVER liked a band on the idea of them being anti-conformist, all of the music I listen to I listen to because I genuinely enjoy thier music, and not ONCE did I find any of those bands on TV or or some mainstream facet, I found the bands I listen to with personal research, my dad's enormous CD collection, occasionally a friend will share a band he likes with me that I find to like myself.

That wasn't a groundless declaration, it was in response to the notion that people who listen to mainstream music aren't tremendously interested in music, which is the REASON my taste in music is 'better'; because I actually do care, quite a lot.

My god you were just going on about hating pop because its corporate and how your favorite band was anti-corporate and you've made a big deal about it.
