I agree completely that Katy Perry makes great pop music!

I'll share my favorite songs below, which are so catchy and memorable to me that I like them even after many hearings. That makes them pop music successes in my opinion.

Psh..let's scrap that "I Kissed A Girl" thread. In my opinion her worst single.

What are your opinions about Katheryn Hudson? Her image? Her voice? Her songwriting?

Don't worry, I don't bite.
Katheryn Hudson seems capable, humorous, saucy, savvy, self-possessed, and in good control of herself and her career moves.

The image she projects is intentionally sexual, beautiful, pretty, cute, funny, wholesome and demure yet risque...and she does those all well:

I like her voice very much. Sometimes light and airy, sometimes strong and a bit rough, her voice ranges from ethereal to earthy. I like her expressiveness.

I feel that the lyrics she chooses (I don't know which, if any, she wrote herself) make her pop songs clever, a step above the mundane.

My favorite Katheryn Hudson (aka Katy Perry) songs are these:

* * * * *

"Hot N Cold." Of course. It's a hit with elementary school kids and I like it, too!

I love the video because of the funny situation (with serious undertones), her facial expressions, her pretty voice, all her fashion changes, the distraught and jilted brides bent on revenge, the zebra (!).

"I Think I'm Ready"
Such a pretty song that she sings in a very heart-felt manner. Intimate and warm, her voice is perfect for this song, which describes well how it can feel to be so swept up in someone's love for you that you drop your barriers and show your vulnerability:

"I'm Still Breathing"
One of my favorite end-of-relationship songs. Melodramatic and sad, with a feeling of surviving a suicide or fatality, the song makes the good point that ending a relationship is a decision and sometimes it is the best one that you can make for yourself and those you love, even though it is painful to let go:

Loving 'Last Friday Night', all her songs are so catchy and appeal to the teenage demographic. This is why she has been so sucessful.
