pop is only a couple of letters away from a couple ofother words... namely "pap" or even "poop!"

Hope you find everything you need!

Is it really right to be so dismissive of an entire genre of music.
Especially a genre of music that is so diverse.

The genre of music in itself can produce some of the best and the worst artists in music today. You can go from having singers that are merely products to having singers that truly are artists.
You can go from having groups or singers that don't really sing at all to having a group or singer that wouldn't dream of lip-syncing.

Take these for example:

And I couldn't find a video of this singer on youtube and as this site doesn't allow embedded videos from other websites I can only provide you with a link to the website that this video comes from:

Koda Kumi - real Emotion (Live)

All of these singers can write their own songs, they all sing amazingly well live and they have all released music that falls under the pop genre

Try and tell me what is 'poop' about any of them

Way to take a flippant post too seriously... geez!

My post refers more to thevacuous, crass commercial end of pop music... the Britneys, boy bands, one hit wonders and uninspiring con.formists of popular music... It was not intended to dismiss all music regarded as "popular" music... god damnit 90 percent of the music I love could be considered pop... I was merely making an off the cuff dig at the less substantial end of the pop music spectrum...

Alot of which is POOP...

Well then you should have made it more clear and said 'Mainstream Western Pop'

BTW.... I wasn't taking it that seriously. You act as though I was personally insulting you as person. My only problem is that I know way too many people who completely dismiss an entire genre of music because it doesn't base it's entire sound on the guitars, bass, drums and occasionally the keyboard/piano, like most forms of rock music.
I love most types of music myself, I wouldn't ever dream of dismissing an entire genre of music. I will quite happily dismiss individual artists.
I can also quite happily dismiss 'subgenres' of music.

I wasn't aiming to dismiss a broad spectrum of music... it really waso just abig dumb jokey post...hehehehe... I should be more careful with the words I throw about sometimes! No harm done! Im not nearly emotionally attached to the posting process to be too upset! Though I tend to write in fairly emotional terms...hehe)

You're right - in my mind it's also about music which has a certain beat - 120 per minute.
