2. Floor Jansen (ex-After Forever, ReVamp)
3. Tarja Turunen (ex-Nightwish, Tarja)
4. Etta James
But seriously...no one even comes CLOSE to comparing to Simone, no matter how old and legendary they are

Ann Wilson? For best female rock singer, yes. For best female vocalist, no. The national anthem before the Redskins-Cowboys game is a good example. She's not great at soft parts. I think her natural voice is too deep for that.

I'm glad someone else noticed that Madonna comment Vanilla. I actually just thought they were trolling since they never stated the reasons for the choice. I've seen Madonna and Tayor Swift posts in here for best female vocalist...
