I’ve never done a deep dive into Dr. Buzzard/Cory Daye, but a lot of people rate Ms. Daye highly. Just another of the million or so acts I need to check out. So much music, so little time… Anyway, welcome to Music Banter, LAXMIA2025. I look forward to more of your posts.

Go back and listen to Cory Daye from Dr. Buzzard's Original Savannah Band, especially on the track "You've Got Something."

I had an answer typed and ready to post until I noticed this is in the 'pop' category.

I won't over think this and I'll reveal my age as well, Karen Carpenter. When I was young, her soothing voice was on my parents' kitchen radio before school. Later, she was one of my guilty pleasure artists or as I like to say, 'Windows Up Artist".

Definitely a wonderful voice. So perfect for "lite rock" back in the day.

Building on lite rock or pop.

For me, the lines between rock and pop were never more defined than in the '70's. I think it's because of the emergence of AOR and very few artists thrived in both, especially females.
