I find her to be very talented. She's also legitimately bizarre and whatnot, and thrust into the mainstream. It's somewhat refreshing, although the copycats who are actually well-adjusted, pampered kids are going to try to cash in on it, and have already started to do so, really.

I personally prefer her music from when she was a nobody playing the piano and singing songs she'd written, but I do have to admit that a lot of her pop/dance songs are quite catchy.

Her songs are somewhat bearable but her antics in public really make me hate her. She is the living definition of an attention whore and I don't buy this "wacky and crazy" persona she is pushing. It's doing nothing more than to cover up the fact that her songs are the same old **** that other pop singers do.

Needless to say the only way I would be interested in listening to a second of her songs is if Cartman sang all of them.

Normally I would if she did her thing without being an attention whore pushing a fake gimmick in order to mask the qualities of her music.

Depends on the severity of your transgression.

If musicians want to make a gimmick then it must be reflective of the qualities of the music instead of trying to hide them. For example, I have no problem with black metal bands and their gimmicks since it is reflective of the subject matter of their music.

What makes you think it's a fake gimmick? What qualities of her music do you think she's "masking" ?

I believe her songs to be just normal pop songs that wouldn't have nearly as much impact in the mainstream if they weren't overshadowed by Lady Gaga's "wacky and rebellious" persona that she built for herself. As far as I can see it being fake just look at her before she became Gaga at around 2006-2007. She looks like any normal person and Def Jam knew this which is why they dropped her after three months when she used her real name.
