Did she call herself a "master of the art scene"? Good lord. I didn't watch the whole interview she did, but I heard that part. If she just thought of her songs as fun and pretty much just unadulterated pop music, then that's great! 3 cheers for fun pop music! But the fact that she touts herself as a visionary bothers me very much.

I'm pretty sure she called herself a "master of fame," not of the art scene. I'll watch the part again tomorrow to make sure.

Born This Way was a pretty average pop song in my opinion. I still think Katy Perry is the best pop star right now.

Lady Gaga has officially become a gimmick. A while back I didn't like her music but I at least respected that she was trying to be creative with the whole presentation. Now I don't like her music and she just seems like she is trying way too hard. An egg? Really? Get over yourself.

So... Lady Gaga steals from professional wrestling:

And the Power Rangers moie:

Seriously, this is not a good sign. Especially since I hear she's "throwing away the gimmicks, and focusing on the music". You have a song that is basically ignoring every criticism of being a Madonna knock-off, and having ideas that basically the writers of children's TV shows, and movies come up with.

Terence Hill, as recently confirmed during an interview to an Italian TV talk-show, was offered the role but rejected it because he considered it "too violent". Dustin Hoffman and John Travolta declined the role for the same reason. When Al Pacino was considered for the role of John Rambo, he turned it down when his request that Rambo be more of a madman was rejected.

I'm scrutinizing the possibility this is a very brilliant marketing ploy ala Kiss removing their make-up. IE. it's possible she WANTS you to criticize it for being like Madonna so her loyal fanbase may just clamor for the "old Gaga back".

She manufactures an intentional blunder, and reaps the rewards for her followup. It's either that, or she's so self obsessed, that she'll hype her own work to the moon thinking it's the greatest thing since smore pop tarts. I tend to believe she's not an idiot, though, and she wouldn't dig herself a hole that deep. She wouldn't have gotten this far otherwise.
I agree with that. At this point, she could release just about anything, and it's going to go platinum and have singles which enjoy significant radio airplay. With this album, she's going to get panned by critics, but her loyal "Little Monsters" are going to defend her completely...and like you said, "clamor for the old Gaga back".

When she goes for her fourth album, she's going to say she's going back to her roots from her first two albums, but improving on it with what she's learned from her third album, and it's going to be an extremely highly anticipated release. That will probably end up selling more copies than any of her previous albums.

She's been around the industry a while; she knows what she's doing, and she's fairly smart or she wouldn't have marketed herself and created the phenomenon that she is.

Please do. I'd be fine if she said something like that, because she's pretty much just saying that she's an expert at marketing herself.

I agree like I mentioned earlier, she jumped the shark.

I think you are giving her a bit too much credit, you need to thank her manager and her PA or whoever that brother is that she always takes to the shows with her.
