the whole starving artist cliche is bullshit and it really sucks to live that way.
exactly my point.

i've said this once before here that i kind of find it hypocritical for people to say that music is an expression of an artist/musician or that music is to bring a message to the people and i'm thinking, how can you express your music if you don't have enough materials to do so (instruments, sponsors, publicity, etc.) or how can you spread your message of art musically if you don't have the money to pay a media advertisment or a publishing company or organizers for your concert and all the other stuff?

practically, you can be the best singer/rapper/rocker/dancer/band in the world but without the 'right' gimmick or just plain MONEY, you'll amount to nothing.

i say if you've got a talent, good. but if you can entertain an audience that can possibly patronize anything you sell, is even better. and lady gaga just did that. look at where she is now?

I honestly think they live in some magical world where once you are creating art then you are just able to live and do wonderful things because you are talented and creative.

and those people living in that magical world end up as either an audience on someone else's concert secretly imagining what will happen if he were on that stage or a frustrated singer pissing everyone at a nearby kareoke bar.

As soon as I saw someone called MetallicaCliffBurton had posted in this thread I rushed in here knowing that I was going to read a post full of insight & conjecture that I had never before experienced on this forum, and by god was I not disappointed.

I think the word EPIC was invented to fully describe the process involved in spewing out such tremendous insight. I don't know if we'll ever grace such a well informed and astute post again.

We may as well shut the forum down right now.
Nobody can top that.

Before I get in the more forum oriented spiel, I'd like to claim I've never thought of Gaga as a sellout. She was a chameleon constantly shifting gimmicks until she found won that works from the start.

She's not a sellout, she's a HACK with a capital H-A-C-K. Lack of skill, effort, talent(apart from derived talents like mastering an amazingly cliche non-'stand out' pop voice), and originality was even present in her early years. She's just hacking away to see what works, therefore, she's the definition of the term.

Now...

2000 freaking replies... Christ!

I vote we move this thread to the editor's pick's corner. I am dead serious, and only allow replies that are:

A) actually about her recent gimmicks not just about her in general. Whenever she does something that 'breaks news' (grimace) like the meat dress, or the fake suicide then post it when it happens, and only just after.

B) Talking about her newest music. If you have a comment about 'Born this Way' in all of it's retarded covered glory, then good. If you want to comment about Weird Al Parodying her, Good. But no more of this 'I like her' or 'she has no talent and she sucks'.

C) talking about a concert or personal experience involving.

D) Anything that's fresh, or will actually inspire new conversation, and anything that's a reply to that new information.

After all, This thread is updated every 2 hours with completely useless information. Usually replies like 'I like her' or 'she is duh gay' from obvious spambots who just latch onto the thread because Gaga is a hot thing(and trust me, I don't mean that in terms of physical attractiveness by any stretch), and they're programmed to target her thread. Or noobs who have nothing to actually contribute to the site because they just glanced at it for three seconds, and want to share their opinion, never to glance at it again.

The music discussion on this forum has been at an all time low since I joined. Can we please stop letting this thread, and this woman, from being a distraction?

Terence Hill, as recently confirmed during an interview to an Italian TV talk-show, was offered the role but rejected it because he considered it "too violent". Dustin Hoffman and John Travolta declined the role for the same reason. When Al Pacino was considered for the role of John Rambo, he turned it down when his request that Rambo be more of a madman was rejected.
Al Pacino = God
