I do find her homely and beauty is in the eye of the beholder , it has nothing to do with impossibly high standards. It's all about preference.

I wouldn't go that far but the woman disappoints me on a lot of levels. She's proof that anyone will do anything for money. Worse yet, she waters down the concept of an art weirdo by posing as one while making bland derivative "pom pom cheerleader dance and be happy" music.

She's an overeducated, overexposed, shallow heartless human being playing outdated music to an increasingly singularly focused audience(Speaking generally, there are a lot of really cool open minded people who like Gaga. Some of her fans - people I've seen outside these boards - however seem obsessed to the point of mental illness). But, I wouldn't kill myself over her.

Wow these last few pages have been douchebag loaded. So she lost some weight and all of a sudden she's anorexic and a bad example to teens? How pathetic, it's her body and she can do what she wants with it.

If it were a personal choice, then you would have a point. But, it's obviously a commercial choice. So, it's not like she's doing anything with her body, she's modifying her body to fit 'standards' unrelated to her art form.

When you say "obviously", you'd better hope to hell you have a source and not just a "FUCK POP, MAN!" bias. This is a completely senseless thing to say, as you're projecting a pretentious opinion (do you REALLY even know ANYTHING about her personally besides the fact that she is indeed in a pop star?) as accepted fact.

Just throwing it out there.

As said above, why is it so obvious that it's a commercial choice?

If you want to kill yourself over a pop star than I don't think Lady Gaga is the problem.

The source is simple logic. The Lady Gaga character was created to generate money, and she drastically modified her self image to fit the mold of what the character had to be.

What I do know is that she was a prodigal piano player in childhood, went to a well established art college, dropped out, and spent years trying to break out continually failing to achieve an audience. Eventually after years of that, she gave in, and utilized the help of a studio producer by the name of Rob Fusari. They cowrote a brilliant new 'character' for her to play.

Again, I don't understand how you could get together with a studio producer to invent a new character, then drastically change the way you look to fit it without it being a commercial decision.

I'd like the source that explains where she gave in her dignity. Not one that explains how she started working with some guy. One that isn't just an opinion, something that actually states that, factually, Lady Gaga is a sellout with actual proof, and not just an obvious bias.
