she went off-key during last year's Grammys duet and Stevie Nicks had to bring her back into key

^^ well if it's her own songs, the range isn't that wide

that night she was doing a Fleetwood Mac - she doesn't have that kinda range

yeah she needs to learn to stay in her tiny little range and not strain herself.

Taylor is not the greatest singer, but she can carry a tune. I saw her at a small bar on a promotional thingy in London a few months before her first UK release & she was excelent.
I attended one of her large concerts after she made it big here, but there was too much noise from the audience to hear her properly.
Swifty knows she is not a great singer, but she is a good songwriter & can sing her own songs effectively. Loads of songwriters are not great singers
At her London bar gig she even did a pretty decent cover of Amy Winehouses' "Rehap"

True that about some songwriters not being great singers. Enter Kristofferson

Kristofferson was never a good singer, but his singing was worse than ever last year at the cambridge Folk Festival. I saw it on TV, but i respect the guy. He knew he had trouble with his singing there & he changed one of the lines in "Help Me Make It through the night" to "Help me make it through tonight"

I kind of disagree on the ego thing after doing that dumb song for Kanye West at the VMA's a year after it happened just so people can look at her.

But I at least respect her for not going through the "weird & rebellious" shtick that other female pop singers are going through.
