KMFDM found a way to make Material Girl sound creepy as ****.

Blood Duster somehow makes Drink,Fight,**** a hell of a lot more fun than GG did. I think its mostly because how dirty and old-school the guitar riffs are as opposed to the punky original. Let's go mothafuckas!

jackhammer 05-06-2009 04:40 PM

^^^^

Not heard that KMFDM cover before. It's good.

Ministry released a cover album last year and here is one of the delights:

and this is still absolute class:

The Unfan 05-06-2009 05:08 PM

I think Apoptygma Berzerk does a pretty good job of Bizarre Love Triangle too. The original sounds far too upbeat for the lyrical content.

I also think Stabbing Westward did the song some justice. Not quite as good as Apoptygma Berzerk's but its right on par with New Order's.

barbarella 05-07-2009 07:23 AM

Now This Is What I Call A Cover Version!!- Better Than The Original?

One of the most disappointing covers I've ever heard. I actually expected Manson to do something with this that deviated from the original while keeping it the same-ish. Instead he just cloned the song and added a hint of atonality.

I like their cover of Metallica's Fade to Black myself.

Urban Hat€monger ? 05-07-2009 05:47 PM

Is it wrong that I prefer this to the original? :o:

Urban Hat€monger ? 05-07-2009 05:51 PM

You Megadeth fans don't get off lightly either

Piss Me Off 05-07-2009 06:05 PM

Today I was listening to New Moon for the first time in months and was reminded of how much I loved Elliott's cover of Thirteen.

I love that cover. He also has a cover of Waterloo Sunset I like.

Antonio 06-08-2009 11:59 PM

not my favorite, but an interesting cover of the Police's "Wrapped Around Your Finger" by Underoath

Rickenbacker 06-09-2009 10:22 AM

Michael Stipes version of U2's "One" is excellent. Have a listen, even if you don't like U2, because Michael spins the song in a totally different direction.

Also, Johnny Cash and Joe Strummer's version of Redemption song is delicious.

Actually, that is one of the worst covers ever. To think it's better than the original is just insane.

I like Paint It Black by the Tea Party.

Johnny Cash covers Nick Cave brilliantly:

Excellent cover of a John Martyn song. Such a shame hes no longer with us.

Arya Stark 06-29-2009 04:55 PM

I'm pretty sure I love that first video you posted.
