Default New bands in Scotland...

Can someone help me past the rubbish circulating around Scotland and guide me to some good new bands?

franz ferdinand, the fratellis and travis are scottish too and all fabulous. sorry to say i dont know much more off the beaten track other than my own home grown bands, most of which split up when the members ended up in seperate universities

Orange Juice, Primal Scream and Aztec Camera are the first names that spring to mind when I think along the lines of good Scottish music, although admittedly they're hardly new. There's a decent thread about this kinda thing right about here as well.

I saw Errors live the other weekend and they were pretty good, just played their album though and it's a bit bland in places.

Not many of these are "pop" but Biffy Clyro, Twin Atlantic, Frightened Rabbit, Sucioperro and Bronto Skylift.

And sorry but I think Glasvegas are utter balls.

Hi there,

I lived near Largs for nine years and remember seeing a great band called Shooglenifty a few times. Are they still around and gigging around Glasgow?

Cheers, Gordon.
