Why not just sit back and stop the debate? Everyone has made their point. No one can argue that OTW was not a huge album and commercial success. Let's just enjoy the music and stop debating.

Chula, I have to disagree with what you're saying. SF and I were having a pretty good debate over music. I haven't actually seen her jump out of line during the debate at all.

Fair enough. I wasn't talking about music in general, just her comments about OTW somehow being overlooked.

Yes the bolded is true but as I mentioned earlier you also engage in other behaviors that a general music listener would not such as attending music message boards or sites and researching information about music. You want to learn more about other styles and you openly express in depth opinions that an average general listener would not. Also, I think there are different types of listeners. I don't think the "only" styles are general and enthusiastic but just stating the differences between the two since you asked me.

Ah. I must've missed her comments on that. I saw her comment on music enthusiasts vs general music listeners and it just went from there.

Actually, that is a good point. I don't see a lot of people who just listen to music casually go to the internet to find forums to discuss music on. If they do, they're some of the more inactive users on that forum. Not speaking about this one specifically, but forums in general have inactive users that would fit the trait that you describe.

I have all of Michael's albums, concerts, videos, etc so trust me I sit back and enjoy his music daily.

Yes this is a great song. Michael was a great songwriter and that is something about him that is also overlooked. Michael wrote this song ALL BY HIS SELF

But it's not overlooked. After The Beatles he'd widely considered the greatest artist of all time.

I think he is widely considered the greatest entertainer and he hardly ever gets credit as a songwriter, I still disagree.

There are some that don't even know he has written 90% of his discography by his self.
