This Is It isn't the best thing to ever hit the cinema, but it's worth a watch. I'll be getting the DVD when it comes out. I recommend you two go see it, if you like MJ, it's awesome. It shows how much attention he pays to detail, and how hard he works on all of this stuff. It's not like he's controlled by the director and has no freedom, he has more input than probably any of the cast. Cool stuff. I enjoyed.

I was kinda wondering how they went about editing/ putting together a film like This Is It in an entertaining way, given the constraints on footage, the fact that the performance material was only rehearsals, etc.... how did it all knit together, or indeed, DID it come together very well...

I thought it came together very well. They had footage from several rehearsels, and most of the effects, etc. were already done, so it wasn't too terribly hard to piece it all together. It's kinda hard to explain, they interviewed some people: dancers, cast, crew, and showed some audition footage, then jumped right in and showcased all of the songs involved in the show. It was great, I loved it. It showed Michael's fun side as well as his enormous amount of focus and talent. He didn't look like he had slowed down at all, looked like he did during the Dangerous tour.

I think that's a little much.
I still remember the first time I heard a Michael Jackson song as a little kid: my brother was listening to "Billie Jean" on the radio and my comment was, "Does that guy have the hiccups? What is all this 'hic hic hicking' that he's doing?!"

My childhood distaste for Michael Jackson's music didn't change. I still don't care for Michael Jackson's music. I listened to "Man in the Mirror" again, to test it out. And there he goes, with his "hic, hic." His music does nothing for me other than make me want to turn it off. This is probably a good example of how strong and different people's musical tastes can be.

I also remember watching "Thriller" when the video first came out. I didn't see what the big deal was. It was just some people dancing around like zombies, embedded in a short B-grade movie. Hadn't people ever gone Trick-or-Treating? Since most people seemed to like Michael Jackson's music, I knew from an early age that I must not be like most people.

One thing I *do* like about Michael Jackson's music, though, is that he made moon-walking really popular, and my cousins and I loved learning how to moonwalk while we were kids. Learning to moonwalk was fun like learning to pat your head and rub your stomach at the same time was fun.

I always wondered: where is his other glove? He seemed very gimmicky to me. I never felt entertained by him, so I definitely don't think of him as the king of entertainment.

I know and alot of people dont know about this story. Michael saved this boys life who needed a liver transplant in the mid 90's around 94/95. He spent alot of money looking for livers all over the across the world until they found one and they did. He lived. I wish people would stop judging him. The whole save the plant and helping kids was no bullish. He did that from his heart and there is alot of things he did for people out of the kindness of his heart that most people dont know about this incident being one AND not to mention he was incredibly talented... I greatly miss him.
