Thoughts on AutoTune

I believe Autotune is both a great asset to the music industry, as well as a detractor. Autotune allows people of different music styles to create music, even if their voice is not technically sound. I believe it leads to very creative and catchy songs.
On the other hand, I believe it takes some of the art and talent out of singing. I believe it allows for artificial perfection when that person is actually incapable of providing a satisfactory performance. The use of reverb and small effects to add a little spice to the voice is reasonable, but the fact that pitch changes can be easily enhanced from an out of tune person just seems like cheating.

What are your thoughts?

I think most people will agree that it takes away from the skill someone has.
Now that technically everyone can sing with autotune.

It does make for funny videos, though.
