Jedward
Yes, it has happened. Jedward have arrived on musicbanter.
I'm sorry, just look at them....http://www.gay.hr/forum/images/smilies/hypno.gif And yes, they totally should have won this years Eurovision. This is some seriously catchy shit... |
These two are actually too annoying. Swear down they are the most irritating, over the top loud duo of people in English pop culture right now. They act like complete idiots, and appear to have very little respect for anything. Any tv show they appear on the end up monopolising airtime, even on segments that they have no part of.
And then we move on to their 'music'. I watched X Factor when they were on it, it was too much. They seriously lack in talent, their singing was often out of tune and out of sync with each other and the backing track, they cant dance to save their lives and resort again to behaving like childing twáts to get attention. They are actually the definition of attention whores. There is nothing they wont do for a few minutes of airtime, and as someone who has had to suffer their bull**** for the last however many years, I can honestly say I'd not be sad if they mysteriously disappeared or were vaporised by an alien ray gun. Herpes is catchy, you wouldnt want that either. |
Haters be hatin'.
|
There was something great about these two finishing higher than Blue. Hate to admit it but it wasn't a bad Euro song either.
|
Most of the country is split between horrific embarrassment and thinnking they're great... I side with the former.
|
I had to rub my eyes a couple of times at the horror of seeing a Jedward thread on MB. I surprised these two talentless wastes of sperm are still adored by the public and the media this long after appearing on x-factor. And now that they've represented us at Eurovision it gives them the opportunity to milk their fame for a while longer. I'd really, really get immense enjoyment and pleasure out of punching them in the face several times.
|
C'mon guys, it's not that I don't agree with most of the things said, they're certainly lacking in the talent department, but they're 19 and obviously great showmen. And it just so happens they actually had a really good song. Seriously, step back a little and listen to the song (if you like pop music that is). It's catchy, it's fun and totally hip. When compared with the other contestants this year, it should've won by a mile.
Plus, they're fucking gorgeous and dress spectacularly well... |
Oh they're born for the media, that's for sure. They can play to an audience better than most pop stars ever. As for the song... it's not really my kettle of fish, and I personally thought italy or Moldova should have won it in terms of musicality (and moldova in terms of sheer insanity). There is a lot of good music in Ireland, but we seem destined to be globally represented by two wankers who can barely sing... (for the record, I know people who know them, word has it that they really aren't nice people).

I have a number of friends who love them. It's hard to gauge what the relative proportions are, though.

Jedward were crap on Eurovision last night along with Blue but they claimed enough points to be on the left hand side of the standings, which is more than respectable.
|
Better than Blue.

Shame on you, Ireland...shame on you!
Certainly the worse thing to hit these shores since the I.R.A. What did we do to deserve this? |
We are ashamed! :(

OMG this could escalate.
Please, no more U2 albums. :( |
Agreed. But no more Hugh Grant films please.
|
Deal!

Yeah they have pretty good style
but god that song you posted totally turned me off from every listening to them again |
To be honest, I never heard of them until I saw Eurovision. And when I saw them...well their music performance reminded me of some kind of insane commercial for Red Bull. Admittedly the song was catchy but I think the Dustin the Turkey was a better entry a while back in terms of originality. The fun thing is that my country gave Jedward 12 points so there must be some merit in the song...
But hey, we sent Eric Saade and he was not that much better IMHO (pity he could not break all four glass panels). And we made third :). |

Fair play to Jedward because they are good at what they do, which is to entertain and they had a good run on X Factor and gone onto make a wad of money. They can not sing though and their hair is embarrasing. Some will say they represent everything that is wrong with music at the moment. |
Serbia were my favourite.
|
When I heard Lipstick I just wanted to hurt both of them in the worst ways possible. The only reason why I watched Eurovision in the first place was this song:
which was perfect except for that horrible attempt of rapping. |
They have more in their bank accounts than myself and in this day and age of facile media attention who can blame them? Probably set up financially for life already.
I think adidasss is enjoying winding you lot up and you all took the bait :D |
Wrong. I really do think Lipstick is a great pop song, as can be seen from my last.fm charts.

Serbia won the Eurovision Song Contest in 2007.

And someone mentioned Serbia, yeh not a bad song. Actually it was quite a good year for songs overall. Don't judge it on Jedward or the gimmicky Ukraine entry. |
