The beats are so ****ing simple and lack any volume or dynamics, i mean come on, throw in some more effects or synth or anything for the love of god.

Why are people so impressed with midly humorous lyrics like "i work out".This is right said fred but minus the humor and the dedication to the image. Why are they're flesh and bodies even necessary? Why not take this music right from the market focus groups and studio labs and just emit the hypnotizing sound waves directly into my brain.

This music is disrespectful to people. I don't care if it's supposed to be fun, or dance music. I liked that "like a g6 li-li-li-li like a g6" song, it was at least produced to some degree, it still had sexuality or illicited a form of reaction.

These guys are so ****ing bland. So watered down to cover all bases, all ages, to be on b-rate pixar movie knock offs, where the mean old granny springs out of her chair and starts dancing rapidly as soon as LMFAO play's. She'll sing a long when they say "im sexy and i know it" and the audience will all laugh in synchronized, predictable hysteria and im going to fucking kill myself because there is no room for observant people in this world.

oh look, someone has formed an opinion. Try not to rub it in peoples faces, everyone has one you know?

Trying to relate your point through emotions, anger, (what have you). Usually isn't the best way, at getting your point across to others on a music forum. :)

I did explain why I dislike them, my second post was fairly informative minus the last paragraph.

I'm allowed to convey emotion, especially when all i get our patronizing comments back like "oh you must like a band with talent lol"

I'd love for somebody to explain to me why LMFAO isn't absolute trash. Hell, if you can get equally emotionally rilled up about it that would be lovely.

Everything since I posted has been a critique of me, not of this group.

Sparky 12-18-2011 12:09 PM

hell no, this group is the worst music I've heard in years. This is the point of the website.
I throw in my opinion, then somebody provides an argument against that opinion. It's not everybodylove****tymusicbanter.com

Is this just how the pop forum works? Everybody just says light, pleasant comments about bad music?

I thought it was clear that it was targeted at anyone reading it. If you want to interpret as directed at you that's okay. It's directed at anyone behind their computer screen. It is the internet and all.

Necromancer 12-18-2011 12:26 PM

Your just trying to entice me into an argument so I will lose my "Nicest Member" award.

Sparky 12-18-2011 12:33 PM

Dude I'm not trying to argue with anyone personally. I don't care how your perceived on musicbanter.

I just needed to let people know that this music is very bad, my "call of duty" if you will. :)

What needs to happen is someone who likes Lmfao needs to actually break down why they enjoy them. So far no one has actually made the effort to explain anything ("they're fun!" doesn't count). Sparky went into detail on why they're trash, if people don't debate against this it leads me to believe that either a) you all know that lmfao sucks donkey ballsacks and you just don't want to admit it or b) you're not intelligent enough to make a response and back it up with solid facts. So prove me wrong, cause right now I'm starting to think that fans of this group are all mentally challenged.

With Sparky on this one. They do suck a lot of ass, and I think just because they are a guilty pleasure to people with an otherwise decent music taste, the fact remains that they are garbage.

Nickleback fans aren't given a pass because it's harmless fun.

Rubato 12-18-2011 01:38 PM

They don't try to be original, they don't try to attach deep meaning to their songs by bitching and moaning about life and they don't take it too seriously, they just get on with it which is quite welcome. Do you not get bored of the same old bands popping up, purposefully trying to avoid the expected and the overused just so they can appear "original" and "fresh"?

Necromancer 12-18-2011 01:38 PM

I don't wanna listen to that^ shit!

C'mon, it's not that hard to understand. You don't necessarily like music based on facts, but you should certainly be able to verbalize in an intelligent manner why you like something using facts to back it up. I shouldn't even have to explain that to you.

I enjoy Lady Gaga a bit, but I wouldn't defend myself for liking her. I wouldn't say "Oh, just cause I have a sense of humor and you can't see that" because I know I only like her because it's easy as f*ck. Ra ra ro ma ma maaa, ra ma ro ma ma maaa, ga ga oh la la laaa.

and what's wrong with simplicity? It's not a competition to listen to the most complicated music. If it were, you can forget about popular music altogether, Schoenberg and Stravinsky would be where all the cool kids would be at.

I don't see why you would need to defend yourself for liking Lady Gaga, that is if you're listening to it for entertainment rather than an academic study.

Goofle 12-18-2011 05:32 PM

I agree with you, but my problem is when people have a go at Sparky for pointing out that LMFAO are garbage. They are, and if you listen to them accept that you will be ridiculed on this site, deservedly.

I can certainly articulate why I like them but I doubt anything I'll say will consist of facts, just personal feelings and opinions. The biggest thing for me is simply how fun they are. I know you hate that for some reason, but they are. Sorry for Party Rocking is a fantastic party album. It's certainly not deep or complex or anything but it has the amazing ability to be either something I'll just quickly listen to the singles from or an album I'll listen to straight through. It's very rare for me to discover albums that do both things. And unlike the majority of contemporary pop music, I actually find the songs catchy as hell, but then I'm a sucker for minimalistic, sharp, hooky electronic riffs. An added bonus, and probably the thing that puts them over the top for me, is the complete and utter lack of seriousness on the album. On that front, they actually kind of remind me of Ween. Not that they sound at all like Ween, but the we-don't-give-a-fuck mood is similar. It's something I think is all too rare in the unironically posturing world of pop music and I absolutely love that about LMFAO.

Sneer 12-18-2011 07:16 PM

I also agree with everything Sparky has said in this thread.

But hey, I am a Radiohead fan, so obviously I'm just a pretentious wanker.

DoctorSoft 12-18-2011 07:38 PM

Out of what I've heard they have 2 good songs and the rest fall between awful and decent. Party Rock and Champagne Showers are still sweet though.

I like most all kinds of EDM, but can't say I'm a fan of them. I think it's mainly the vocals that I don't like. And then there's also the fact that I'm not big on the sort of Electro they put their vocals to. 'Tisn't my cup of tea.

Sometimes I wish my head would fit up there, least then I wouldn't have to endure Lmfao in my sister's car. I'd make sure I had some earphones in too, so I could listen to obscure Tibetan Folktronica and Progressive Bluescore.

Saying all that, I apologise for misinterpreting your post. Turns out I'm not so perfect after all, ey?
