a lot of little girls are obsessed, I just think he is talented, I have never been one to let my taste in music be swayed by what was cool or uncool to like, I have owned nsync, godsmack, sevendust, britney spears, tupac, paul oakenfold, system of a down, haste the day, and garth brooks albums all at the same time.

Music is music. The kid can sing. I do not see the big deal at all... the big deal with me is when people that you can't find one good talented thing at all about them (2chainz) have fans, that is where if you feel like expelling hate, it should be directed.

after seeing this video, both justin timberlake and usher, battled for justin who ultimately went with usher, and justin timberlake snagged another young youtuber by the name of esmee denters. who also has an amazing voice.

When you take a kid like this and put him in the studio at 14, what is going to come out is over processed kids bop music, suitable for disney and nickelodeon, not the type of thing a grown man is going to go grab and throw in his ride, and it will also make you think that he is untalented because he is so over processed like all the other kids bop/pop artist.

The truth is that Justin Bieber is a true child prodigy, he plays guitar/drums/raps/dances and even basketball at pro or above average levels.

When I see a 28 year old guy say "I don't like justin biebers music"
I think, duh but overall the comment was decent, and honest.

When I see a 28 year old man say "Justin bieber is gay"
I think wow, your mature, plus he is ****ing selena gomez. who you hittin...

When I see anyone say "I hate it when untalented people make that much money."

I get pissed... there are few people in the music industry as naturally talented as justin bieber, his music is marketed and directed towards a young pop demographic that doesnt display a ton of talent. But songs like boy friend, I have watched the mix down on, He has no vocal effects other than compression and slight reverb, thats that dudes ****ing voice.

Over all MK puts it in a great way.

THE TRUTH IS, THAT IF YOU TALK **** ABOUT THIS KID, YOU HAVE ISSUES, IF YOUR NOT A LITTLE GIRL YOUR NOT SUPPOSED TO DIG HIS MUSIC, BUT HE IS TALENTED. so just ignore it, why look so ignorant hating on a talented kid.

Other youtube stars to know about so that you don't make the mistake of saying they are not talented once they make it.

Spoiler for videos:

I was subscribed to justin in 2008, way before he was signed, im a cover junkie.... found him when he hit around 100k views.... I love searching for these talented artists....

My plight is to educate, I do not intend for some one to go oh I like Justin Bieber now, lol its not gonna happen, just wanna show you that under all those effects, is a talented voice.

I believe that the world getting to the point where grown men, hate young talented kids is a bad sign. They should be encouraged not barraged with hate for their success...

I'm pretty ambivalent about Justin Beiber. He is what he is. I don't personally see a whole lot of talent there but then I find that to be true of most of his kind of pop star.

This. He means nothing to me, but I don't despise him either.

He mostly gets hate from insecure guys who are afraid of effeminacy.

to that I say respectfully sir.. PLEASE WATCH FOR MY POINT TO BE MADE.

Spoiler for videos:
14 singing very well and playing along.

Letter man on the drums

Rapping on the radio

Performing infront of thousands.

performing with no special effects showing off his voice his last single.

finally he wrote and directed his latest video

In closing if this kid is not talented, then I need to sell all of my gear immediately..... because I can not do any of that except for rap (the thing he did the weakest), at that level.

He's okay. Other artists have done a lot more interesting material at his age, which seems to be what your stressing-how good he is for his age.

I am saying his material is appropriate for his demographic, I believe his talent isn't challenged by many at all at any age in his genre.
he is 19 now. name some of these other artist, with better material at 19.

I challenge anyone to copy my last post, and only change the videos, with one artist. under 20.

Mozart wrote his first symphony at 8 years old, so yeah. Take a listen.

He was also writing short little tunes on the piano in his toddler years up until then.

How about Jackie Evancho. She's 12 and 10000000000 times the singer that Justin Bieber WISHES he could be.

Skip to 1:20 to hear the singing.

I need to post links to Miles Davis? Why? Isn't it enough to know that he was one of the geniuses of 20th century American music and he started playing professionally as a teen?

all of the stuff I was able to see of him was him playing jazz music...

no singing or even really moving on stage...

the only person that I can think of to compare to J/B is michael jackson or justin timberlake...

I agree that her voice is better than justins, there are people with better voices than him, there is no doubt about that, but he is multi talented, destin to be a popstar, if you have ever performed/recorded/written and produced you know that there is way more things to being the total package than having a great voice.

Yes, he was jazz musician. Why would that discount him as being talented at a young age?

most definitely wouldn't, I was still stuck in my kid prodigy mind state, good at tons of things, and I was just not finding videos of him being young or doing anything other than playing jazz music, he is talented, very talented. Just old in every thing I found, and honestly I know nothing about him.

Franco Pepe Kalle 12-15-2012 06:45 PM

here is my take

Justin Bieber is a excellent singer. Yes there are better singers than him but there is no young person as creative and musically talented as Bieber. He can play the guitar and many girls like that. He can also dance well. I think if Bieber keeps up good work and ethics, I think he could be very close to Michael Jackson.

Black Francis 12-15-2012 07:25 PM

Funny..

First it was cool to hate Bieber, and now it's cool to defend him.

Fame, infamy, it's the same ****, ppl are still talking about him.. so "haters' are 'Lovers' cause they love to hate him..

And if you wanna be real?

Even if you hate him or his music, the guy is making the money you wish you could make and banging the chicks you wish you could bang.. and he did it all with some lame dance moves and crappy pop tunes..

you gotta respect that in a way.

most of us could never achieve that even if we wanted to.

He was born in 1926, you're not going to find much in the way of video of him being young. But he's one of the most brilliant, prolific and influential musicians of the 20th century. He started playing professionally in his mid teens and had a far-reaching, diverse career that spanned half a century. I guess time will tell if the genius of Justin Bieber ever touches that.

Urban Hat€monger ? 12-15-2012 07:50 PM

Brian Robertson was 16 when he joined Thin Lizzy.
This is him the following year.

Neapolitan 12-15-2012 11:39 PM

Can Justin Bieber do this? I'm afraid not.

Kyoko Sugiyama even kicks Alan Whites ass on the drums let alone any mention of Justin Bieber.

After watching that Justin Bieber should give up and become a paper boy.

Steve Winwood was in a way a child prodigy too. He played with a bunch of Blues artist while still in school, joined the Spencer Davis Group at 14 and he appear in the movie "Pop Gear" when he was about 16/17.

Steve Winwood - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

anticipation 12-15-2012 11:44 PM

The fact of the matter is without the media hype machine shoving bieber fever down our throats he would just be another kid singing in his mother's basement. Sure he is "talented", but there are a million other artists his age or younger doing more interesting ****. He's only popular because young girls think he's cute and record execs love manipulating teens.

Alfred 12-15-2012 11:51 PM

The Flatliners were 14 when they wrote most of their debut album and 16 when they recorded and released it.

he'll probably be one of those dudes who has to get plastic surgery later to feel good about himself

Isbjørn 12-16-2012 02:18 AM

He doesn't make very good songs, but I guess we shouldn't hate him for that reason.

wiggums 12-16-2012 03:19 AM

The fact that you had to look up miles davis' stuff makes me understand why you think Beiber is so talented. ;)

Rjinn 12-16-2012 04:48 AM

I don't really care about his age. There are many talented bands/musicians out there that deserve to have a successful music career than he does. I'm not necessarily talking about fame. Just the opportunity to be backed up, prolong their music career, distribute records, and be appreciated. He's not at that stage yet, and that's all that matters.

I'm still half doing this too

or at least I was until I remembered half of Jane's Addiction was 19 when they started out (drums and guitar)

I feel better now. Also the entire Mother's Milk album by the Red Hot Chili Peppers features an 18/19 year old John Frusciante.

He started off with a kid and a guitar, that's how it's suppose to be. Now he has turned into an auto-tuned, money making machine.

simoirs 12-16-2012 01:02 PM

He's got a decent voice (the world surely had worse popstars in the past) and the fact that we are in the information era and everyone can make people listen to their opinion just makes him earn more money, in the end. This is awesome!

Better Bieber than a stinky 70's-inspired riff, anyway.

Scarlett O'Hara 12-16-2012 01:15 PM

Nothing you say will make me like Bieber. I had better taste that 95% of teenage girls, I would never liked him then and I sure as hell don't like him now. I find him slippery and not genuine.

Paedantic Basterd 12-16-2012 01:26 PM

Frankly, I've never even heard his music, other than that one song slowed down by 800%, which makes for awesome drone. What I dislike about the kid is his fanbase and his attitude. Kid's a wanker, regardless of his music.

This is what he wore when he accepted the Diamond Jubilee award from Prime Minister Stephen Harper:

I hate Harper with a passion but jeez, if I got to meet him I certainly wouldn't show up dressed like a first class douchebag in a train conductor's uniform with a dirty T-shirt on.

Whatever. He's from tiny ass town so I expect nothing more.

What I don't understand is why the PRIME MINISTER would give Justin Bieber the ****ing award? For Christ' sake, he sings the word swag in his song. Multiple times. He's a ****ty little popstar that burned out last year. Imagine The National or a well respected band receiving the award. That'd be something
