I'm not that familiar with GaGa, it seems like she has been kinda dormant these days, and out of the lime light for the last year or so. I'd prefer listening to Cortney Love anyway verses listening to very much of GaGa music. I noticed GaGa herself, tries to imitate Madonnas vocals on a few of her songs.

I'll pick Madonna all the way, as far as personal preference goes.

Where are your manners? She is a Lady and she should be addressed that way. :rolleyes: and a little fyi she goes by "Lady Gaga" not GaGa.

Yes, Adele would be the winner of that one for sure (I mean "Miss" Adele) I just recently heard Rolling In The Deep for the first time. Wow... what a voice.

Lady Gaga for sure. She may be dormant because of her hip injury but will be back in force by September to release her album ARTPOP.

I love Madonna, and I think her albums could have more staying power than Lady Gaga's. Madonna is really timeless and was often ahead of her time in ways. I feel the same about Janet Jackson.

It is still too early to say that Lady Gaga's albums won't have staying power but anyways I voted for her because I've enjoyed her output so far and looking forward to what else she has to offer.

She's more versatile than people give her credit for.

I think she's down in Mexico at one of her childhood friend's weddings or was recently but yeah she's doing personal life stuff atm.

Over the course of their entire careers: Madonna, by far. Though Lady Gaga has more musical talent.

I've not listened to a lot of Madonna's back catalogue, and I still haven't listened to Born this Way, but Madonna seems infinitely more creative than Lady GaGa. I mean, Erotica and Ray of Light alone **** on anything GaGa is ever likely to do. I know GaGa is only two albums in, but I just don't see her progressing in as amazing a way as Madonna has.

I've got to disagree with that one. Lady Gaga has way more talent than Madonna. I've seen her live and she doesn't have to do what Madonna has been caught doing since the beginning of her career over and over again. Lip Synching.

Unlike Madonna, Lady Gaga can also actually play musical instruments. Madonna's legacy as the material girl will be that she paved the way for manufactued pop garbage for non talent hacks like Britney Spears.

I think a better comparision for Lady Gaga is Annie Lennox personally.

Ok I will admit to liking them both, however Madonna A LOT more. She is original and never copied anyone as far as I can tell.

Madonna can play acoustic guitar (which doesn't count for much), and she used to play drums. Still, I think it would be crazy to claim her musical talent is comparable to Lady Gaga's.

i personally like Lady Gaga's postmodern diva persona. But I also like Madonna's funk focus rather than Gaga's more contemporary club beats. It's hard.

omg no fighting but I DO like posts as is, in their original sequence, unedited and undisturbed. They are a great read! Someone should always make an attempt to keep it on track if in the music section, though.

For example: for about 10 yrs I stopped listening to Madonna bc it made me angry and I thought the music was shallow, as with most pop IMO.

When would Lady Gaga ever say shit like that? She commodifies herself as a sexual object for male pleasure rather than her own and uses the LGBTQ+ community as a means to gain attention/revenue and being a queer Tranny Prostitute myself I don't want Lady Gaga leading me and people like me. She claims bisexuality, but she's never seen dating women or being public about it, it's always men. Madonna actually has dated women publicly (Sandra Bernhard, etc) and didn't give a fuck about if it sold or not. She's fucking Madonna, she does whatever she wants. Lady Gaga would rather sell her sexuality over her own artistic integrity, and apparently her own health since she only writes drunk or coked up. Fuck that. My favourite Madonna song of all time and one of my first memories. Madonna knows how to get what she wants and she's telling the rest of us women (or people who like dick lmao) that we don't need to earn anyone's affection, they have to earn OURS.
