I was too lazy to type up my collection again. I'm pretty sure I posted mines in this thread awhile ago. It is still around the same range.

I've never owned a vinyl record or player in my life. I can't recall ever listening to one either. CDs did me just fine.

I have around 400-500 CDs stored in cases. I just started downloading music a year ago, and so far 46G worth.

It amounts to 75gb. It's ridiculous; I couldn't listen to all of this if I had it playing in the background of every scene in my daily life. Sometimes the amount of music there is in the world depresses me.

Yeah that's my thing. Even with a "small" collection, there's not enough time to listen to it and really comprehend it. Granted, many people here may be older than me and have been listening to music a lot longer than I've been alive haha. In any event these huge amounts of music are pretty cool. My music collection is always expanding and growing.

It's been a while since I did a physical inventory, but roughly...

1500 to 1600 12" albums
1000 or more 7" singles
350 to 400 CD's
100 or more 10" EP's
100 or more 12" singles
200 or more Cassettes
200 or more VHS tapes
100 or more DVD's
30 or more 3" CD singles
2 8-Track tapes (David Bowie - The Man Who Sold the World & Jimi Hendrix - Are You Experienced)
1 LaserDisc (Pink Floyd - The Wall)
1 CDV (Front 242 - Headhunter)
329 GB on an external hard drive

I have around 150 CD's that I've been collecting for years now as well as 50 or so vinyl that I've been collecting since last year. On my laptop I have 140 GBs of music. It's likely that 10% of that music is unreleased material I've recorded over the years.

Quality not quantity always. I have around 800 cd's and another 3000 albums on mp3 but I am always looking to downsizing. There is nothing worse than putting an album on and not knowing what your fave track is or what it sounds like in some cases.

Ideally I would love to just have 100 cd's chock full of the finest music known to man but there just isn't enough time to sift through it all.
