I´m a big fan of Hanky Panky and Rescue Me by Madonna. I was dissapointed when I learned that Madonna was actually not into the spanking fetish in real life.

neardeathexperience 07-27-2014 07:27 AM

I've been enjoying Brandi by the Looking Glass lately.

Electric Barbarella is a good kinky-sex related song also!

Cool

I thought you were referring to the R&B singer! I got excited LOL

wondertribe 08-11-2014 09:45 AM

Sky Ferreira has my heart right now.

Swordfishtrombone 08-14-2014 11:40 AM

Kanye probably. And if that's hip hop instead of pop, I'm actually a pretty big fan of Iggy Azalea and Lorde's work. It's catchy music that has fun with some occasional flashes of lyrical brilliance.

Webbie Pooh 08-22-2014 04:57 PM

I really like 2014 Ariana Grade, she is the future of Pop Music

After seeing a picture of them I think they are the most unlikely matching of music and band pics that I have ever seen. Most of them look like Hell's Angels.

Sadly one must read the whole sentence to get a feel of what the person is trying to convey.....(lol) Just for the record I like some of Brandi's songs also!

You are right lol and by the way Brandy the R&B singer is spelled with a y at the end. I clearly read that sentence to fast, thanks.

I pick Demi Lovato, it's awesome

Zhanteimi 10-29-2014 11:29 PM

Katy Perry and Taylor Swift

Goofle 10-30-2014 05:51 AM

LIZ.

Probably will be forever.

Holerbot6000 10-30-2014 05:53 AM

When I was traveling the world, I became a Kylie fan. We got Madonna in the US and the rest of the world got Kylie. Would that it were otherwise. Whereas Madonna tends to get all preachy and judgmental, Kylie just wants you to dance with her and then take her home and well, plunk her magic twanger. I know Kylie is getting up there in years, but she still looks way better than Madge. She is still pretty popular too. Sort of the Iron Maiden of pop stars.

EPOCH6 10-30-2014 09:15 AM

Grimes.

Metric Andy 11-11-2014 07:44 AM

Am a Metric fan myself..
Also like Millencolin and the Awesome British band 'A' even though they split up a while back...

Chula Vista 11-11-2014 09:30 AM

What's the current definition of pop? There's so much damn crossover these days is there really anything left that's considered strictly pop?

I hear ya but there's all kinds of pop, pop rock, psychedilc pop, J-pop and..
Well i can't think of anymore but there's tons of it and most times you can distinguish it's pop in the music even if it's mixed with another genre.

Chula Vista 11-11-2014 12:31 PM

Pop Hall of Fame would be Michael Jackson and Madonna for me.

Rowan Weaver 12-14-2014 06:58 AM

I think pop is generally used to mean highly accessible and listenable pretty much at any time, so a lot of genre blending acts are labeled as pop - Metric, Ke$ha, Katy Perry, Imogen Heap, Fiona Apple, pretty much anyone who works to make music "too be listened to" (I've only ever commented on the avantgarde section, if you can't tell XP) on a surface level more so than be delved into (not to say there's nothing there of course. I did say Imogen...) is pop.

I think some of my favorites right now would be Cibo Matto, Phantogram, and Bjoerk when she's being pop-ey (Homogenic and earlier). I should get back into Metric though...

Rexx Shredd 12-14-2014 12:14 PM

My favorites vary far and wide and across generations

I like Dirty Loops (new modern band that blends pop and jazz)
I like The Killers ( well, "Hot Fuss" anyway)
I too like Metric
but I also like Garbage (90s band)
ABC (80s band)
Erasure (80s synth pop)
ELO (late 70s pop period)
The 1960s pre-disco version of The Bee Gees
The Sweet (1970s)

just to name a few

One of the most beautiful vocals in pop history.
I don't know anyone who doesn't love this song.

Anyone familiar with Niklas Nesset? I'm stuck with his song Fire With Fire at the moment.

galt54 12-18-2014 02:43 AM

Maybe my favorite pop song of all time is Kids in America (the Baby Obey Me version) by Kim Wilde. That song has a such a strong beat and such an infectious melody and strong hook. And I love the refrain.

Plainview 12-18-2014 09:08 AM

Changes by Bowie? It's up there for me.

RiPS 12-22-2014 03:32 AM

I like Taylor Swift 1989. I also like Kyary Pamyu Pamyu.

Please stick your colorful fishes, soft birds, edgy sunsets and golden ideas up your arse please and strongly consider walking off a cliff while you're at it. I hate deers now. I'm gonna go and dislike all of your videos for making me hate deers.

I have a huge weakness for Taylor Swift. I used to do quality assurance for an MP3 service, so I had to listen to a lot of Top 40/Billboard music, and T-Swift was easily the best of the lot. "Never Ever Getting Back Together" is the ****in' jam.

Pinkmoon 02-06-2015 11:57 AM

Corny, but I like 1234 by the plain white T's :)

Imakandi 02-07-2015 04:49 AM

My favorite Pop songs are:
Pornograffiti - Fullmetal Alchemist opening 'Melissa'
Flow - Colors
Yui - How Crazy

Or any song from these artists. I hope Jpop is okay, but this less on the 'idol' side of Jpop.
Edit: I don't know how I ended up qouting someone, must have misclicked somewhere. Its fixed now.

If we're talking about famously played chart topping radio pop I love Florence + the Machine and Lana Del Rey. Adele is nice sometimes too.

My favorite pop-ish artists that aren't as famous or radio material are

Beat Happening
Mirah

and if it counts, The Unicorns.

Pinkmoon 02-07-2015 12:26 PM

^^^^ I'm a big fan of Adele and Florence & The Machine too! As I've said before. Overcast, I like your taste in music.
