...no only thing they share in common is the classic rock tag.

Oh my, it's been years since I heard their name mentioned. Absolutely underrated, I agree with this.

I'm gonna give this thread new life. [Mimes CPR]

Definitely a favorite of mine.

Definitely a band to check out. Although they do have some great material I wouldn't class any of the albums to be truly great, though most are very good. But, they always strike me as a band who's musical abilities far outweigh their songmanship, which is good because most of their stuff ranges from good to very good.

As cliche as it is I recommend Argus as their best album.

Argus, There's The Rub, New England, and their s/t are pretty badass. Argus is as good or better than the other classic rock of its age, so myeah.

Now that is a ****ing incredible album.

Anyone have other suggestions to start, i haven't gotten to far into them yet.

I seem to be the only one on the planet who likes the track Handy on the debut album. Sorry, but it's just fun! Lol.

I love Wishbone Ash as stated earlier, very very underrated musicians and some great stuff in their catalogue.

Comus 05-25-2009 07:11 AM

Handy is great, it's a brilliant example of a great bass guitar song.

Argus was really interesting, yet to here another album. It is high on the agenda list though. Can't dcide which album to check out next though, just want to hear all of it!

Argus one of the truly great prog albums of the early 70`s from a great band, Wishbone Ash had a haunting harmony so unique in their day, unforgettable. Thought their latter 70`s stuff pretty crap though and haven`t listened to any of their releases since, seems like Comus has recommended some of their recent stuff, so may well give them a listen.
