I might give them an honorable mention, they are mostly associated with metalcore, and that's exactly what a lot of their stuff sounds like, granted they like to throw in random things like jazz fusion instrumentals. But it's never really stuff thats mixed together, rather they just play one style and segue into another mid song. Metalcore with a prog twist is still.... metalcore.

They're certainly proggish but eh, I wouldn't call them prog.

re the Brian Eno thing: yeah you are right I suppose, Roxy Music and (for a while anyway) Eno got tarred with the 'glam' brush probably because it was big in the UK charts at the time and they dressed very exuberantly; but if you listen to the music there is really not a lot glam about it except some silly sci-fi oscillator noises and maybe the odd lyrical theme

Their look was glam, their attitude was punk, but their actual sound was progressive. They embraced more pop and R&R influences than their peers though and that's what made them distinct.

He said almost. Sorta 10%

Seriously how about a bunch of comps with a track from each. A lot of work but good fun!

That would be fun. On a related note, is there a theme yet for the next MB Comp. or did it come out already and I missed it?

I'll probably make a few changes first but yeah that sounds like a neat idea.

Picking a song for every band and uploading them would be a bitch though. What uploader would you recommend? Sendspace?
