Tangerine Dream - yes Neu! - no let me explain. what Kraftwerk and TD explored synthesizers and how they could craft melody purely out of a wall of synthetic material, Neu! was largely organic. Rother and Dinger were multi-instrumentalists who got ejected from Kraftwerk because they wanted to explore a different avenue. and their sound was ENORMOUSLY influential, not just on the burgeoning German scene. i suppose they were pretty short-lived (with a grand total of four studio albums to their name), but their looming influence on the rest of the world (especially bands like Porcupine Tree) was not. haha. i was so excited to find that band until i started listening. it sounds reprehensible tame, more like Deuter and that new-age crap that the torch was passed to than anything else. i was so disappointed by Deluxe.
