I concur, Tarkus is on the whole more satisfying than Brain Salad; although I have always liked the Larks/Starless/Red era of KC the best, followed closely by the Adrian Belew reformation =P You're right it is criminal not to have any mention of KC in particular, the most idiosyncratic and influential prog group ever?
It would be good if you guys hammered out another list or two between you, though I still have some catching up to do with Advanced one
