This was the first progressive rock song I ever heard when I was a wee middle school student. One of those life-changing experiences ya know?

I was in school and during a music lesson the teacher played the whole of side 1 of Tubular Bells. I was 16, it was 1974.

My first experience with prog as such was Pink Floyd. Roxy Music had some prog elements at time but I never really knew about the genre until I bought Dark Side of the Moon. I wanted to see what all the fuss was about, and well I see it clearly now!

It was Rush-Moving Pictures. Then some of their 70's stuff which is as epic as it gets. In a few years(it was 2001-2002) I owned all of their albums up to that date. Vapor Trails was their most recent I believe. Last I counted it was like 27-30 albums.

...closely followed by Yes. Their "classic" compliation album. With killer tracks like "heart of the sunrise", "starship trooper", and "Ive seen all good people".

Looking back on it. I had a great car( 81' 242, built, boosted+intercooled, w/ 5 speed) and even better music.

Being a teenager still discovering life and other things on a near $0 budget wasnt all so bad as I remember it.

My sister had a pretty good album collection back in the 80s. I didnt hear much music back then (were about 14 years old). One of the albums were The Wall. After that I loved all the great albums of Pink Floyd.
