Default The Pineapple Thief

The Pineapple Thief

This band is definitely deserving of a continuously growing fan base, especially in the prog region. I stumbled upon this band by accident through last.fm, and it wasn't long until I had their entire discography in my collection. One of the finest examples of progressive rock out there right now. Even if there are aspects where it doesn't seem to be of a typical progressive rock band, they still have their moments where it's very subtle prog, but also done very well. Some of said that they can be easily comparable to The Smashing Pumpkins, in that I can agree, just subtract the whiny vocals.

The one album that brought me to fully appreciate their music would probably have to be the Someone Here Is Breathing album. In my opinion, their best album released so far.

Especially when it includes tracks like Nothing At Best and Barely Breathing.

Funny thing is, I was on the Porcupine Tree radio on last.fm when I discovered these guys. They aren't too much alike, though I agree that both bands are very talented.

I think I heard these guys on Last.fm, also, because Porcupine Tree has a lot of listens in my library. I'll have to check more of their work out.

Also, @ VanderGraaf, nice username!

Both the Someone Here Is Breathing and Little Man are great albums to start with. I think you'd really like them, a lot.

You are so pretentious, it hurts. :P

Agreed. One of my all time favorite tracks is off that album:

They've had 8 studio albums, which I'm quite surprised at, because I hadn't heard much buzz about them since the release of Someone Here Is Missing two years ago.
