Paul:

"So the album was found in the import bins (their stateside label at the time, Columbia Records, rejected IAGH on grounds that they felt it was not commercially viable, which was why I never heard of it until PtF came out years later) and it became one of my absolute favorites. In fact, mainly on the strength of worldwide sales but also US import sales plus domestic sales once it was finally pressed stateside in 1978, IAGH remains the top selling Giant album"

You are saying there was a US press of Glass House lp as early as '78??
This is news to me.
I always thought it never made North American press.Only WWA label uk and Vertigo Germany.

If so, do you have a picture? Is it the same elaborate gimmix cover, 3D cellophane?

I'm saying I learned of the existence of IAGH when Playing The Fool was released in 1977. I saw the 1976 tour when they opened for Yes. I really don't remember when I first acquired an import copy of IAGH but I'd bet it was in the early 1980's.

I just saw Pink Floyd: Live at Pompeii for the first time yesterday, and it helped me gain new appreciation for one of my favorite bands. Since high school I've been listening to Floyd, what with all-night D&D sessions with Floyd and other prog rock bands on in the background. Anyway, so today I put all my Floyd albums into a playlist in chronological order and hit play. Loving it. On Dark Side now.

The third, "Nivraym" is even more intense/frenzied. Too much so.
Difficult to take-in in one 58 minute sitting.
