What are you listening to --- Prog/Psych Version
Thought it was about time we had one of these, and with the PRAC going on hiatus till January, not to mention surely we're all getting new prog albums from Santa, this is a good place to tell everyone what you're listening to in a prog vein.
Ideally, throw a YouTube in and/or the album sleeve (if it's an album or from an album), and write as much or as little as you want about it. Hell, you know the deal by now. Me? Currently I'm listening to this http://www.progarchives.com/progress...51422013_r.jpg "The losing game" by Verbal Delirium from From the small hours of weakness and this http://www.progarchives.com/progress...92532013_r.jpg "Lonely man" by Millenium from Ego |

Always Dream Theater...I have been slowly beginning to appreciate Mastodon though. I'm still not sure if I'm a fan.

One of the top 10 classics from the golden era IMO.

Ok, so to get the King Crimson Lizard page on Wikipedia, I google "Lizard" "king" "album." Up comes a bunch of Doors albums.
EDIT: listening to Islands. I want to introduce myself to a couple of their more esoteric works. So far, I'm actually really liking it. |
Just finished Italian band, Locus Amoenus.

Steven Wilson - Grace For Drowning
I find this the oddest and most interesting track from the album. 15/8 time signature, anyone? |
|
Pell Mell - Live Darmstadt.
|
David Bedford - The Odyssey
For those who don't know, David Bedford (now deceased) was a former band-mate of Mike Oldfield, who helped out on this album. You can hear the similarities to some of Oldfield's work; it's a little like a more classical-sounding symphonic-prog version of Oldfield, if that makes any sense. |
JESTER - SAME '78 US prog

Psy-fi: you listen to "Psifi" prog lp by Second Wave? (I have a trade copy)
