Source? I've only heard The Big Four applied as a term to thrash metal. Google searches don't seem to help your case either.

Sure, some may say others, but just because Big 4 of Thrash is the only one you've heard, that doesn't mean it's the only one. Heck, the Big 4 of Grunge are Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam, and Soundgarden. I would know since I am a part of multiple grunge websites, and that's the official decision.
