That doesn't make them a punk band, or an emo band.
Modern Rock dominates the airwaves. And that is just what greenday is.

ya, following this weeks flavour of ther month???
it's not fashionable to be 'punk' anymore??

they're a modern rock band now??

in your opinion

They were never punk in the first place.
All their albums suck equally, and all of their albums are just as 'un-punk' as American Idiot.

I know. But it didn't stop them from professing to be, when it was fashionable.

Now, I guess they're modern rock ala Nickelback, LOL.

Okay, but saying you are punk, and actually being punk, are very different.

true.

But they were never in the rock section of any music store I frequented. And to them, 'rock band' was a dirty word.

I rate them no higher than they rate themselves - average crap following flavour of the month trends.

Anyways. I think Green Day will do something new for their new album. Something more instrumental. Its just a felling I have.

KISS pioneered the art of giving more to their fans for less.

KISS invented the album package. First band of all time to include a merchandise order form in their records. The're penchant for including booklets and posters in their albums are now the norm.

All KISS.

bungalow 04-09-2006 02:27 PM

What didn't KISS invent and/or pioneer?
