I dont hate KISS, i even said i liked Love Gun.

I said that several times and you just ignore me, you overstate their greatness and when i try to explain why you are wrong you end up confusing me for being a KISS hater, sure im no fan, but i dont hate them either, but from a objective point of view i just dont think they were all that great.

When you said they OWNED the 70s, we managed to prove you wrong by actualy listing 100 artists who make better music than KISS, yes its our opinion, but some opinions just happen to be more valid than others, some are pretty valid, and some are not, and yours just dosent strike me or anyone else here as being much of the former.

by dissing kiss, we're not personally attacking YOU. hard concept to grasp I know, but if you don't grasp it now, ya may as well just give up trying to discuss music with anyone, let alone people here.

He was also making ridiculous claims like Kiss is the most influencial band of the 70s with the exception of zeppelin...but this isn't a kiss debate, hes just trying to start something.

Its just that when people like you come onto music forums, and turn all fanboi-ish, a new found hate is bred. I never really hated Led Zeppelin till Kashmir came around. I never really hated Dream Theater until Don came around, and I never rally hated KISS until you came around.

well, I'd say that's a dumb thing. Im not a KISS fanboy, I just like their live show, the aura that surrounded the original band, and when you're partying a classic KISS tune can be good. why do you think those KISS tribute bands were so successful??? because KISS music is a good time.

BUt how many bands in the 1970s could do a three night stint at the LA Forum, or Madison Sqaure Garden??

Led Zeppelin and KISS, basically

and who made 'better music' is a matter of opinion.

you think it's ridiculous to claim KISS as one of the 70s most influential bands?
a band that literally invented the stage show!!!!!!
 dude, with denial like that, you make it too easy to 'start something'

You're missing bill's point.

We don't like bands shoved down our throats.

Take note: we understand you like Kiss, theres nothing really wrong with liking Kiss. Some people here don't like Kiss, and therefore are not going to rate them as highly as you do. This is nothing against you, people just have different tastes. You have to deal with the differences.

not really, kiss just built on a concept the rolling stones started up, and took it to the extreme, and made it their ONLY thing. They didn't really concentrate on music, just their image. and the whole stage show thing was done by the stones first, so KISS didn't invent it. sorry.

who's shoving a band down your throat??? KISS was an immense part of 70s pop-culture.....trivia games about the 70s decade ask questions about KISS.
They were one of the biggest bands on the planet throughout the decade.

Now, these claims are comments on the 70s decade in general, and yet you're interpreting them as KISS fanboy praising.

yes, but very little of that had anything to do with music. They marketed the sh*t out of their image, and that was it. That was their thing, if you actually look at the music itself, it's quite monontonous, one-dimensional, boring even. without their pyrotecnics, funny makeup, and over the top costumes, they wouldn't have been famous. They came around at the right time, people were looking to latch on to huge pop culture phenomenons, looking to join in the "experience" of going to a show, something that was started in large part by the stones. Their image is the sole reason they were so successful, that and luck that they came around at the right time.
